Remedy 1: Turn on the timer on your phone for 15 minutes and pick one thing to do.
Remedy 2: Get out your brain drain journal and write anything that comes to mind down for 3 pages.
Remedy 3: Do a physical chore outside like sweeping, watering, taking out trash....

When you are overwhelmed you do need to take an action towards something productive because behind being over whelmed it's what you really want to do. It's very easy when you feel this way to do default avoiding or numbing which can be:
- Binging on your phone or tablet with games & social media.
- Coming up with things you think you need and going to go get them as an excuse to get away from what is overwhelming you.
- Online shopping
- Research on google for property, health solutions, etc...
- Roping a friend into Happy Hour
- Creating a new over whelming project to get away from the current one. (Such as changing things, projects, etc...)
If you find yourself doing any of the above things chances are you are overwhelmed and the remedy is simple just try the above solutions that have worked for us in the past. I love you and I'm sorry you are feeling this way today.
